About

Per Fidem Intrepidus means "Fearless Through Faith". My courage isn't my own, it comes from the Holy Spirit, it's my faith in God and my personal savior Christ Jesus that calms my fears and allows me to move forward in this fallen world. Personally I'm afraid of a lot of stuff, but having the faith that Jesus adopted me as his little, sin filled, brother keeps me going.

"I walk through this sinful world as a
pilgrim in a foreign country" - CH Spurgeon
The past 12 months have been kind of tough for me. Health issues are primarily vexing for me. While I rarely pray for healing I do pray for help in dealing with my health issues and God answers my prayers in the most wonderful ways, and He sends His answers in the form of children. My own children and step children help around the house while the granddaughters help in their own special ways. A six year old is not adverse to fetching items that grandpa needs when he's not feeling well, and is a more than willing accomplice when he is feeling well enough to commit a little mischief, or maybe even head up into the mountains for an unscheduled picnic.

Then again the baby can be pretty handy too. Just her presence takes grandpa back 30 years when he was changing her aunts and uncles diapers and the whole world made a lot more sense. Sometimes grandpa's need that, and sometimes they need a nap, and who better to teach a baby the fine art of napping than a grandpa? These little girls have given me more joy in the past year than I can ever relate, and it's all God's doing. This is why I chose what I did for yesterday's Spurgeon Thursday. Thank you Lord for your wonderful gift of wonderful children and please bless my family as we celebrate the baby's very first birthday tomorrow.

It's got to be true, I saw it on the internet

The Supreme Court's unanimous decision to not rule on the Little Sisters of the Poor case is not only a huge victory for the Little Sisters of the Poor but shows the true agenda of the Obama administration. Obama has handed out thousands of obamacare contraception exemptions to companies and individuals without batting an eye, to drag a group of nuns through the courts like this is sheer malevolence and spite directed at Christians.

  1. The UMC as a denomination has been apostate for at least a decade, because they first put women in the pulpit, then preached the social gospel, and have been allowing the homosexual agenda for at least a decade. It doesn't matter what their official doctrine says, they don't punish those who violate it. I have numerous, NUMEROUS, links to articles about the UMC on my blog all pointing to apostate actions.

  2. Hi Doug,

These little pictures of the joys in your life are real treasures of your blog. Children truly are a heritage of the Lord (Ps 127.3). And all his gifts are good.

    ...

I'm not sure that there are many (any?) American mainstream denominations that are not apostate at this point. Of course we have to agree to an objective definition of apostasy. By one, the United Methodist Church is fully apostate as evidenced by its membership in both the World Council of Churches and the National Council of Churches. This does not mean that there are not true Christians in the UMC. But it does mean that they are by their presence giving tacit approval to things God hates.

For those who are not familiar with these bodies, the World Council of Churches:

...accepts the ordination of women, approves the ordination of practicing homosexuals, and tolerates an amazing variety of heretical beliefs. At a “Re-Imagining” Conference in Minneapolis in 1993, the deputy general secretary of the WCC, Mercy Oduyoye, taught that we all have “spirit mothers” who avenge us and that the spirits of the dead surround us “in the rustling of trees, in the groaning woods, in the crying grass, in the moaning rocks.” The same conference also featured Kwok Pui-Lan, a WCC member who defined salvation as “bringing out what is within you” and quoted the Gnostic gospels. Pui-Lan justified her use of Gnostic texts by stating that, since it was men who decided the canon of the Bible, she was not obliged to accept it.

Historically, the World Council of Churches has been led by those who hold to liberal theology and who promote “progressive” social policies (such as abortion) and leftist political agendas.

It doesn't matter that you and I wish it were different. The UMC is at war against God. Like the PCUSA, the Episcopal Church USA, ELCA, etc.

    Revelation 18.4 doesn't apply here...
