About

Per Fidem Intrepidus means "Fearless Through Faith". My courage isn't my own, it comes from the Holy Spirit, it's my faith in God and my personal savior Christ Jesus that calms my fears and allows me to move forward in this fallen world. Personally I'm afraid of a lot of stuff, but having the faith that Jesus adopted me as his little, sin filled, brother keeps me going.

"I walk through this sinful world as a
pilgrim in a foreign country" - CH Spurgeon
It's been one of those weeks, I've even learned to dread Thursdays even more than Mondays. And being on-call doesn't help the attitude much although I only got one call and I was paged as I entered my work place. Work responsibilities pretty much quadrupled this week with the addition of a new project. It's new and exciting and so geeky there's no way it can be adequately be explained to someone, including me. If anything, it has improved my prayer life.

I have found a new teacher on my drive to work in the morning, Dr. Tony Evans (probably no relation) at 5:00 in the morning on KRKS-AM. His teaching is tightly biblical and wonderfully crafted. His current series, Knowing God's Names, is incredible. Here's Dr. Tony educating a CNN reporterette on Gay Marriage. I like my old habit of listening to John MacArthur on my drive but fumbling with his smartphone app on I-76 was dangerous, and my only other options were news which tends to cause me to forget Psalm 56:3, and Christian flavored nonsense like Joyce Meyers and Levi Lusko.

Pray for the Abedini family, and pray for Franklin Graham who is trying to help.

Would you vote for a person whose spokesman said "There's no such thing as Christians, only people who say that they are Christian"? How about "Christians are the “First to name call and First to judge.”? or “most religious people” as hypocrites who follow a practice of “Do as I say not as I do.” or it’s “always the Christians that are married or too old to party that tell you how [you] should be living your life. As if they were [saints].” Is that the kind of administration you want in the White House? Then why are you supporting him?

An open letter to 'celebutant' Jerry Fallwell Jr.

We don't see this in the news often enough. I'm sure it happens quite often, it just isn't reported.

Why are Christians backing the muslims seeking to destroy Israel? What part of Romans 11:17-19 don't they understand? I'm offering to conduct a study of those verses and more with anyone who doesn't understand our special relationship with Israel

  1. You never heard of Tony Evans?!?!?!? That's almost like saying you never heard of John MacArthur!

Christians who are backing Islam against Israel are obviously not Christian.

    1. Yep, really. Never heard him, never heard of him. I can't pick up the radio station he's on in Colorado at my home north of Denver, it's only when I get south of Denver on my way to work that I can hear him.

  2. Good for Dr Tony Evans on CNN for speaking truth clearly, and not getting drawn in to the reporter's baiting. It's always interesting to see the facial expressions of the person in the power position (usually the TV journalist). Viewers take their cues for how they should FEEL about issues and what POSITIONS are "good" or "bad" based on these facial cues.

So even though Dr Evans spoke the truth, I'm afraid that the CNN viewers were strengthened in their emotion-based convictions that "marriage has evolved" and "god should get out of the picture".

Continuing on the "social conditioning" aspect of this clip, I wonder too if CNN chose this pastor because of his slight speech impediment. In the public's mind, this strengthens their unexamined but deep conviction that they are SUPERIOR to religious people.

All of this is subtle, so it's easily disregarded by people who don't want to believe it. But the studies have been done for more than 100 years now. People are social creatures, and model themselves after the "alphas". This stuff is science, not fiction, and done according to well-worked formulas.

As Christians we are not automatically immune from these schemes.

    1. I wondered about that speech impediment, because in the sermons I've listened to that impediment isn't noticeable. I got the feeling that CNN interviews him because they are in shock that he's a black man that admits to voting against Obama. In multiple interviews with CNN reporterettes Dr. Evans stands firm on the bible and explains that in the end he's got to stand before God and explain himself, and the reporters just don't get it.
