The Pope Advocates Violence

Mr. Pope has done it again. As the worlds best example for the necessity of the reformation, Mr. Pope regularly opens his mouth and stuffs it full of gold shod foot. His unending unbiblical gaffes have Vatican spinmeisters working over time to retell what he actually said into something that doesn't sound so wrong. This time they're really earning their pay.

On his trip to the Philippines Mr. Pope had to open his mouth about the slaughter in Paris recently conducted by the Religion of Peace on the staff of Charlie Hebdo. Rather than point out the sinfulness of the murderers actions, Mr. Pope actually defended them:

"If my good friend Dr. Gasparri says a curse word against my mother, he can expect a punch. It's normal. You cannot provoke. You cannot insult the faith of others. You cannot make fun of the faith of others... there are so many people who speak badly about religion or other religions who make fun of them... who make a game of the religions of others. They are provocateurs. And what happens to them is what would happen to Dr. Gasparri if he says a curse word against my mother." -Pope Francis. 

Immediately the Vatican began emergency cleanup actions, spinning this statement like it was just idle chat, using terms like "half joking" claiming that his words were "spoken colloquially and in a friendly, intimate manner among colleagues and friends on the journey." In other words it was just 'Guy Talk'. All we need is a football game, chicken wings, a bag of chips, and a case of beers and we have us a good-buddy Super Bowl commercial for Miller Lite. Just the Guys sitting around cracking jokes about the latest mass murders by Islamist extremists while waiting for the kickoff to start the second half . 

And no, you may not say that I'm being too hard on Mr. Pope. In fact if you want to say that, then I'm going to insist that you are not being hard enough on Mr. Pope. This man is in charge of the largest religion in the world, he is sole proprietor to the largest stash of cash in history of the planet, he claims to be the Vicar Of Christ, he insists that he is the Governor Of The World, his job description is "God on earth, Sole sovereign of all the faithful of Christ, chief king of kings, having a plenitude of unbroken power, entrusted by the omnipotent God to govern the earthly and heavenly kingdoms" Every single word he says must be taken at face value. He does not have the luxury of telling jokes, half jokes, or colloquialisms, 

Here is a man who is the head of a religion where "turn the other cheek" is a vital part of the teaching of that religion and he publicly says "They were asking for it" - no wonder why the Vatican underlings were spinning like a series of whirling dervishes. In one thoughtless, callow paragraph Mr. Pope not only undermined the freedom of speech, he vindicated the murderous actions of the Paris Islamist terrorists. 

Then again, this man isn't stupid. He knows what he's doing and he knows exactly what he's saying, he's also a Jesuit. At the Council of Trent the Jesuits were given the specific task of bring Protestantism back to the "Mother Church", their #1 tool to accomplish this task was the inquisition. Forget the Monty Python version of history, the main target of the inquisition was not Jews, witches, Moores, or random serfs, their primary target was heretics - Protestants and bible believing Catholics. Do not be fooled, the office of the inquisition still exists, under the name of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith.

 Whoever denies or places in doubt any truth that must be believed with divine and catholic faith, or repudiates the Christian faith as a whole, and does not come to his senses after having been legitimately warned, is to be punished as a heretic...whoever obstinately rejects a teaching that the Roman Pontiff or the College of Bishops, exercising the authentic Magisterium, have set forth to be held definitively, or who affirms what they have condemned as erroneous, and does not retract after having been legitimately warned, is to be punished with an appropriate penalty.  - Pope John Paul II, in his apostolic letter Ad Tuendam Fidem (May 18, 1998)

So we have an option of how to consider the pope's latest verbal barrage; a dottering old man yucking it up with his buddies, not advocating violence but hey - they were French. Or we can take it as a warning from a man in a very very powerful position to not make fun of his religion or to try to provoke him.
