About

Per Fidem Intrepidus means "Fearless Through Faith". My courage isn't my own, it comes from the Holy Spirit, it's my faith in God and my personal savior Christ Jesus that calms my fears and allows me to move forward in this fallen world. Personally I'm afraid of a lot of stuff, but having the faith that Jesus adopted me as his little, sin filled, brother keeps me going.

Joel Osteen Meets With Pope - A Spiritual Wolf Pack Is Forming

The Christian blogosphere is abuzz with the fact that Pope Carver Francis met with Joel Osteen and other protestant ministers last Thursday, but why are people so surprised? Joel Osteen has proven over and over again that he doesn't understand the bible, and so has the pope. Besides the Pope and the pope of prosperity, the ecumenical meeting included Sen. Michael Lee representing the Mormon church, Tim Timmons, a pastor and author based in Newport Beach, Calif., and Gayle D. Beebe, president of Westmont College in Santa Barbara, Calif.
"Joel Osteen has joined the rank of all other popular ministries in bowing his knee to the anti-Christ system, and those that blindly follow his leadership will be the first ones in line with their hand out to be marked by the beast. Any Protestant ministry that links up with the pope and Catholicism is betraying the sacrifice of millions of faithful Christians that have died at the hands of this brutal, dictatorial and oppressive religion that has never represented the Church of the Living God as outlined in New Testament teaching." - Pastor Mark Herridge Sr. of Lighthouse Baptist Church in Livingston, Texas to Christian News Network.
These are pretty tough words, but then treatment of bible believing Christians at the hand of papist Rome has been pretty tough through the ages. The Evangelical world would love for a pope to tear up the Council of Trent, (Not the whole thing, just Canons 9, 12, 14, 23, 24, 30, and 33) but that's not going to happen, meaning that Jihadi murders are accepted by the RCC while someone who actually reads the bible is anathema. Meanwhile, according to the Christian Post:
The ecumenical meeting was a part of Pope Francis' on-going efforts to bring unity among Christians, previously stating in public remarks, "Divisions among us, but also divisions among the communities: evangelical Christians, orthodox Christians, Catholic Christians, but why divided? We must try to bring about unity."
It sounds very pretty. I already mentioned the doctrine of the RCC that damns Christians (in their eyes) maybe I should mention the moon god worship that's been going on in the Vatican? (yes, I said moon god) Osteen himself is very up on Pope Francis and the papal attempt to bind all religions under the holy see:
"I like the fact that this pope is trying to make the church larger, not smaller," Osteen said. "He's not pushing people out but making the church more inclusive. That resonated with me." (source)
Of course Joel likes to see larger churches, The House Of Osteen has an estimated 54,000 tithe paying members which is incredible for someone who has no bible teaching at all, and publicly admits to avoid preaching the Gospel. (Joel's forte is TV production) If Joel had studied the bible he would know that Christianity is not an inclusive religion, in fact it's very exclusive. To be a Christian you must:
  • Recognize your sinfulness before God (Romans 5:12)
  • Recognize that your sin has caused a separation between you and God (Isaiah 59:2)
  • You must believe that Jesus is the only way to God (John 14:6)
  • You must ask Jesus to forgive you of your sins and realize that only Jesus has the authority to forgive you of your sins (Matthew 28:18) (John 14:14) (Mark 2:10-11) (John 1:12)
  • Turn away from sin (repent) (Acts 17:30)
  • Know that Jesus' death on the cross paid our debt for our sins (1Peter 2:24)
  • Realize that your salvation comes through your faith in Christ Jesus and not through worldly deeds (Ephesians 2:8-9) (Romans 3:28)
Christianity is not a social club whose membership rules fluctuate as the need for dues paying members changes, Christianity is the bride of Christ Jesus, and we are called to Him. Christianity is more than a life style, more than a 12 step program, much more than a Personal Enrichment Seminar and neither Joel Osteen nor Pope Carver Francis decides who Christ accepts as His bride or how. The How part is all written out in the bible. Personally I'm going to keep tight to scripture and marvel how it all unfolds, just as Christ foretold.
