About

Per Fidem Intrepidus means "Fearless Through Faith". My courage isn't my own, it comes from the Holy Spirit, it's my faith in God and my personal savior Christ Jesus that calms my fears and allows me to move forward in this fallen world. Personally I'm afraid of a lot of stuff, but having the faith that Jesus adopted me as his little, sin filled, brother keeps me going.

False Teacher of the Year 2017

Once again it's that magical time of the year when the frost is on the punkin and the fodder's in the shock (extra points to whom ever can identify that quote WITHOUT using Google). I love this time of year, when I look to the west and see the mountains pointing upward toward God.

I love this time of year, the air is crisp, the harvest is over, the silos and store houses are filled to splitting and the bible study classes are in full swing. For me the study is Romans this year, and a valuable class it is! Paul was one of the greatest sheepdogs Jesus left to protect us. Even now, two millenia since his passing from this old rock, his words still echo down through the ages, warning us about false teachers and their bloodthirsty wiles. We need to stay on our guards Brothers and Sisters, because these wolves are attacking, dragging off members of our flock, the venom of their bite (wolf venom?) leaving them to think this was their own idea. I've seen some very venomous wolves, their attacks aren't marked with snarling and baring of teeth, it's marked by soft soothing words, a smile, and a bible verse twisted like a pipe cleaner in the hands of a two year old.

So onward with the presentation of the ignominious Golden Goat award; John Shore grabbed the Golden Goat in 2013, followed by Steven McSwain in 2014, Mark Sandlin in 2015, and last year God's own NFL bookie, Rick Joyner. I still want to nominate Gretta Vosper for this prize but in Paul's first letter to the Corinthians, 1 Corinthians 5:12, he tells us that God instructs us not to judge those outside the church. Gretta is still a devout atheist and far outside of the church even though she is still seated in the West Hill United Church, Scarborough, Ont. The United Church of Canada is still unable to come up with the courage to remove this wolf from the remainder of their flock, If the rules of the Golden Goat nominating process didn't stipulate that the Golden Goat was awarded for individual merit the UC of C would be a shoe-in for their lack of guts and failure to protect their flock from the ravages of an outsider.

There were so many to chose from - Perry Noble has shown a remarked determination to lead his flock to hell, it was hard to turn our backs on him as he did to sound biblical teaching. Then there's the man that had a whole new word created just for his brand of teaching: Steven Furtick (and the word is 'narcigesis' of course) And speaking of narcigesis, Beth Moore comes to mind too, as does Paula White and the Phoenix of Falsehood Mark Driscoll.

However this year we were taken in by the pure imagination of our top nominee. This year's winner will come as no surprise to anyone, her efforts to stand front and center as the New Apostolic Reformation's False Teacher of choice are impressive and has achieved the "Second Peter Principle" to earn this recognition:
18 For speaking out arrogant words of vanity they entice by fleshly desires, by sensuality, those who barely escape from the ones who live in error, 19 promising them freedom while they themselves are slaves of corruption; for by what a man is overcome, by this he is enslaved. 20 For if, after they have escaped the defilements of the world by the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and are overcome, the last state has become worse for them than the first. 21 For it would be better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn away from the holy commandment handed on to them. (2 Peter 2:18-21
Attention To Orders (Romans 16:17-18)

For inventing her own Gospel with creativity above and beyond the call of duty, for misrepresenting the word of God with bold faced aplomb, for re-defining the clearly stated word of God through personal revelation, and for making up some of the most entertaining and creative false teaching the nominating committee (admittedly a committee of one) has ever heard, this committee sadly announces that the False Teacher of the year for 2017 is Jennifer LeClair. Miss LeClair is the author of several books which teach that you too can become a prophet regardless of what God desires, she is the director for Awakening House of Prayer (AHOP), Mission Base Executive Director at IHOP Ft. Lauderdale, a member of the leadership team of the New Breed Revivalists Network (group of leaders so influential and important that... really important... don't take my word for it, here's their website), news editor for Charisma magazine, and the inventor of the Sneaky Squid Spirit, the Pesky Python Spirit, and the press secretary for the Jezebel Spirit.

Jennifer claims that her conversion started in jail, it's a long meandering story and it starts when she was arrested for assaulting a police officer and violently resisting arrest, both charges she denies. She claims that the cop beat her up for being upset, and hauled her off to jail. She gets released and there she was: a young college graduate with tattoos, piercings, and a partially shaved head with a taste for drugs and alcohol and hanging out with cocaine dealers while living in sin with a Mormon missionary and was out on probation for assault. They were living in luxurious and expensive South Beach on a Mormon missionary's salary and finally got married, and then the story gets weird. She ended up back in jail after her husband abandoned her and and a Colombian maid blackmailed her. She was sentenced to 40 days for skipping out on probation, and while in jail she noticed that the number 40 was in the bible a lot, then she noticed that she lost 50 lbs in 40 days, without dying and without raising modern medicines eyebrow, so obviously God was talking to her. He even miracled her criminal record away!

The hallmark of a true conversion is true repentance. When you come to Christ, you realize what He went through to save you, when you accept Him as your savior your Lord and Master your adopted brother, you praise him in your testimony. And you repent of your sinful past. Here is Jennifer leClaire's testimony. Nowhere is Christ even mentioned, and nowhere is a single word of repentance for her sinful past, in fact the words "Christ" and "repent" do not even appear. Her entire testimony sounds like a child's excuse for misbehavior, nothing was her fault, everyone around her conspired against her.

Miss leClair is a great example of misunderstanding which she preaches the loudest. in this video she shows her lack of understanding loud and clear. She says:
...the bible says you prophesy in part, you've got a part, the word that the lord has put in your mouth is one part of the bigger picture and we need to come together as an authentic pure prophetic people and press in to what god is saying. God does nothing unless he first reveals it to his servants the prophets
Miss LeClair honestly appears to believe that each prophet is given a small part of a large prophesy and they need to come together and piece that prophesy together. It's an interesting theory that might get the conspiracy advocates excited, but here in the real world, this doesn't work. It's not in the bible. In fact  had Miss LeClair prayerfully studied what she was preaching she would have found something completely different. Yes, the bible does prophesy in part. 1 Corinthians 13:9: For we know in part and we prophesy in part. But if she took that in context she would see the error of her concept:
8 Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part; 10 but when the perfect comes, the partial will be done away. 11 When I was a child, I used to speak like a child, think like a child, reason like a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things. 12 For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face; now I know in part, but then I will know fully just as I also have been fully known. (1 Corinthians 13:8-12)

The bible verse she chose to justify her plan of multi-part prophesy is part of a bible verse that tells us that prophesy is going away. It clearly says that all of our knowledge is just part of our story, and the prophesy we receive from actual prophets is just an inkling of what is on God's mind. Paul likens knowledge and prophesy as childish things to be washed away when the perfect comes. If she were aware of the bible and what God reveals to us she would have justified her scam with something taken out of context she should have chosen 1 Corinthians 14:1
Pursue love, and earnestly desire the spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy

She could use that to ignite her followers to a nice warm strange fire

If you had the stomach to then goes on to complain about prophets who are cursing. If Miss LeClair were a minister of God's word she would know that a prophet is little more than God's remote loudspeaker here on earth, repeating His word. If that prophet was cursing, then that prophet is clearly not speaking for God.

Miss LeClaire is very adept at snagging verses out of context knowing that her audience will not apply the 20/20 rule which is to read 20 verses before and 20 verses after each quote you want to use to insure you have it in context. In her very recent article she rails against prophets who plagiarize. Now think about that accusation: If multiple true prophets are speaking for God, and we know that God is not a God of Confusion (1 Corinthians 14:33) then yes, true prophets are going to repeat each other, and hopefully quite often. In her screed against Prophetic Pirates Jennifer turns to Jeremiah 23:30
Therefore behold, I am against the prophets,” declares the Lord, “who steal My words from each other.
She probably believes that her followers won't open their bibles and read Jeremiah 23 and see their leadership in the New Apostolic Reformation called out on the carpet:
26 How long? Is there anything in the hearts of the prophets who prophesy falsehood, even these prophets of the deception of their own heart, 27 who intend to make My people forget My name by their dreams which they relate to one another, just as their fathers forgot My name because of Baal? 28 The prophet who has a dream may relate his dream, but let him who has My word speak My word in truth. What does straw have in common with grain?” declares the Lord. 29 “Is not My word like fire?” declares the Lord, “and like a hammer which shatters a rock? 30 Therefore behold, I am against the prophets,” declares the Lord, “who steal My words from each other. 31 Behold, I am against the prophets,” declares the Lord, “who use their tongues and declare, ‘The Lord declares.’ 32 Behold, I am against those who have prophesied false dreams,” declares the Lord, “and related them and led My people astray by their falsehoods and reckless boasting; yet I did not send them or command them, nor do they furnish this people the slightest benefit,” declares the Lord.
It's the spiritual equivalent of using Ralph Nader's book Unsafe At Any Speed to sell a used Corvair. Using one single takeaway verse from the middle of a chapter that is primarily a railing against false prophets is just a little bit odd, don't you think? One can only wonder at what her take of the rest of that chapter is, especially when the Lord says
15 “Therefore thus says the Lord of hosts concerning the prophets, ‘Behold, I am going to feed them wormwood And make them drink poisonous water, For from the prophets of Jerusalem Pollution has gone forth into all the land.’” (Jeremiah 23:15)
Miss LeClaire is fond of talking about spirits: Jezebel and Squeaky Squid come to mind. Neither of these spirits are biblical, meaning: they're not in the bible. The Jezebel spirit can be inferred from the bible, and it is known as sin. Jezebel, the spouse of Ahab, was a sinful, wicked, plotting, evil woman so the spirit of Jezebel can only be construed as a sinful nature. Jennifer speaks of the Spirit of Jezebel a lot but she never mentions sin. In fact her writings about the Spirit of Jezebel are odes to an actual being who deploys Passive-Aggressive Co-Dependency Traps, employs assassins, keeps you up at night with witchcraft, and, well, you won't believe what Jezebel does to make you her eunuch.

Jennifer uses a few tricks to snare the goats into her pen. One that I mentioned is using bible verses (woefully) out of context. Another is to use partial verses, the art of using just a part of a verse to prop up a sketchy philosophy. But also Miss LeClarie is quite adept a Bible Hopping, a trick used by folks like Rick Warren. Bible Hopping is when someone is trying to throw a sketchy personal philosophy at you and trying to make it stick by giving it a biblical sounding basis. To do that, they hop from one bible version to another until they find a bible version that makes the verse they like make the sounds they need to crowbar it into their lesson. A conscientious teacher will use one bible version and if the verse they choose doesn't back up their thesis the either A) find a better verse, or B) find a better thesis.

Another trick Jennifer uses to snare the unwary goat is to just make stuff up. As I mentioned before the Spirit of Jezebel, which biblically isn't a thing, but my absolute favorite is her invention of the Sneaky Squid Spirit. The Sneaky Squid Spirit came to life in February this year with the "prophetic" words
When my friend told me she saw a vision of herself with a big squid lodged atop her head, I knew enough about the unseen world to understand a spiritual attack was underway. (source)
Personally I would have told that friend to stop watching Japanese Anime before going to bed, but Jennifer took the steps necessary to turn the Sneaky Squid spirit into a prophetic, charismatic cash cow. One could say that she used the Sneaky Squid Spirit as a metaphor for sin, and if she had the theological chops she would have had something pretty good going on there. But she never, ever mentioned sin. In Jennifer LeClaire's world this was a real live spiritual sneaky squid and she went to her friends house to, now get this, "Wage Prophetic Warfare" on the invisible evil squid. In the article there is a link on the invented term "wage prophetic warfare" and it just leads back to Jennifer LeClaire's web page where you are invited to subscribe, give her money, buy her books, and invite Jennifer LeClaire to your next church function. Personally I think she invented the Sneaky Squid Spirit because her invention of the Pesky Python Spirit wasn't getting any traction.

Let's do a google search exercise. First enter the following into a google (or any other search engine)
Jennifer LeClaire AND Witchcraft
You will be astounded at the number of articles that Jennifer has written about Witchcraft. Articles like "Why Are So Many Christians Practicing Witchcraft?" and books like "Satan's Deadly Trio. Defeating the Deceptions of Jezebel, Religion and Witchcraft" abound. Now try this search
Jennifer LeClaire AND Sin
The pickings are suddenly very slim. Jennifer LeClaire doesn't talk about sin except on very rare occasions, incredibly rare. In her article "Why Are So Many Christians Practicing Witchcraft?" she mentioned that witchcraft is a sin... of JEZEBEL. Witchcraft is mentioned approximately 18 - 30 times in the bible, Sin is mentioned well over 400 times yet with Jennifer witchcraft gets top billing. So do squids which aren't even mentioned at all.
Now I urge you, brethren, keep your eye on those who cause dissensions and hindrances contrary to the teaching which you learned, and turn away from them. (Romans 16:17)

So Jennifer, for your false prophesy, false teaching, turning the word of God into a zoo, and denial of His most detested rebellion; sin, we present to you the Golden Goat award. We will pray for those that fall under your spell and pray for their deliverance as you continue to lead your clueless goats on the wide path to a destruction that using your skills as a speaker you could have lead them away. We pray that some day you repent of the books and articles and videos where you twist Gods word to lure people away from Gods hands and into your own.
