"Their God changes the path of our rockets"

“Their God changes the path of our rockets in mid-air, said a terrorist,” was the headline in the July 18 edition of the Jewish Telegraph.

This came from a partial quote by Barbara Ordman, who lives on the West Bank. Her exact quote was:
“As one of the terrorists from Gaza was reported to say when asked why they couldn't aim their rockets more effectively: “We do aim them, but their God changes their path in mid-air.”
Is God taking a hand in the conflict between Hamas and Israel? As reported in Israel Today an Iron Dome anti-missile system operator could not shoot down an incoming missile, the Iron Dome battery commander said to a reporter at a Hebrew language webs site:

"A missile was fired from Gaza. Iron Dome precisely calculated [its trajectory]. We know where these missiles are going to land down to a radius of 200 meters. This particular missile was going to hit either the Azrieli Towers, the Kirya (Israel’s equivalent of the Pentagon) or [a central Tel Aviv railway station]. Hundreds could have died.
"We fired the first [interceptor]. It missed. Second [interceptor]. It missed. This is very rare. I was in shock. At this point we had just four seconds until the missile lands. We had already notified emergency services to converge on the target location and had warned of a mass-casualty incident.
"Suddenly, Iron Dome (which calculates wind speeds, among other things) shows a major wind coming from the east, a strong wind that…sends the missile into the sea. We were all stunned. I stood up and shouted, ‘There is a God!’
“I witnessed this miracle with my own eyes. It was not told or reported to me. I saw the hand of God send that missile into the sea.”
Of course there is a God, and He loves His people, no matter how much they upset him. Israel has been and always will be God's chosen nation, and even though they rejected Him as He walked among them He still loves them. Why did he choose Israel? We will probably never know here in this life, but we do know that He chose Israel as his favored people. We are but the clay and God is the potter, so he owes us no explanation. Personally just seeing His words come true is enough for me and I long for the day that God and Israel are re-united:

4 I will heal their apostasy, I will love them freely, For My anger has turned away from them. 5 I will be like the dew to Israel; He will blossom like the lily, And he will take root like the cedars of Lebanon. 6 His shoots will sprout, And his beauty will be like the olive tree And his fragrance like the cedars of Lebanon. 7 Those who live in his shadow Will again raise grain, And they will blossom like the vine. His renown will be like the wine of Lebanon. (Hosea 14:4-7)
