Random Bits

I shocked a dinner gathering of family and friends by praying for God's healing love to calm the anger filled hearts of Mikey Weinstein and his associate Leah Burton. Personally I was shocked that I had to remind a group of Christians of Matthew 5:44

Mr. Pope continues to stray further and further from what the Bible actually says and instead continues a personal vendetta against the only economic system that has raised the standard of living for the poor, the free market system.

Speaking of straying, Mr. Pope is also straying from the teaching of his own church (lets just ignore that whole "place in heaven for atheists" thing, it was just a "white lie" in the name of PR) There is a church ban in the RCC on clergy holding government jobs. Miguel D'Escoto Brockmann, a priest and member of the Maryknoll Fathers served as Nicaragua's foreign minister from 1979 - 1990 a period where the Sandinista rule was a study in a reign of terror. Of course the spineless Brockmann blamed the murders and tortures committed by his own government on Ronald Reagan. Instead of begging the Lord for mercy and forgiveness for his part in the slaughter of thousands,  Brockmann asked Mr. Pope for his old job back. Ignoring Brockmann's part in murdering thousand of civilians and ignoring Brockmann's violation of RCC rules Mr. Pope  said "Why sure!" and gave Brockman back his deaths head crucifix (complete with skull and crossbones) ignoring the fact that the man who kicked Brockmann out of his hassock, Mr. Pope John Paull II, was recently made a saint by Mr. Pope himself.

Elisabeth Prata does an outstanding job reviewing the current Apostasy we are experiencing today. She also makes the chilling point that this is not the Great Apostasy that was foretold, this is just a general apostasy which is a "warm-up" to the real thing.

The Dublin Mall of Dublin GA wants you, as a Christian, to go somewhere else to pray. The "Dublin Girls Run" a group of Dublinites who combine fellowship with physical fitness had just started their pre-power walk group prayer when they were busted by mall security for the crime of quietly imploring to the Almighty for health and fellowship.

Personally I suggest that the Dublin Girls head up to Mary's Gourmet Diner in Winston Salem NC where if they want, they can do a "Holy Ghost Shoutin' Prayer" and get a 15% discount. The 15% Prayer in Public discount is not an official policy of Mary's, it's just something they do.

Religion of Peace update: While the slaughter of Christians goes on unabated without guilt or shame by Muslims in Iraq and Nigeria, millions of muslims are turning their back on Islam and turning to Jesus.

Religion of Peace update: Christian children are being beheaded in Iraq. Obama promises a limited response. (Personally as a weapons troop with over a decade of B-52 experience, if you're going to take that step and strike an enemy your only limit should be the set by the number of bombs you have to drop on them.)

I'm not going to watch, but I will join a boycott of advertisers. Does anyone have a list?

Personally I think Aubrey Lee Price should have read the bible BEFORE he ran off

I rarely (read: never) pay attention to headlines that use the word "WOWZER" but in this case I'll make an exception. It appears that going to Church is good for your heart. Seriously.

Any readers in the Denver Colorado area, please go to Masterpiece Cakeshop and share a prayer... and have a cookie. The owner Jack Phillips is forced to undergo state mandated re-education because he wouldn't make a wedding cake for a same sex marriage Which Is Not Recognized in Colorado. (Personally I think his best move would have been to share the Gospel (a lot) than to refuse service, but if that's how the Holy Spirit moved him, then we can support him)

Welcome to the USA Meriam Ibrahim! We love you for your courage and faith!

The church planning group that Mark Driscoll founded, Acts 29, has asked Mark Driscoll to step down from the ministry for his acts of "ungodly and disqualifying behavior". We should all join with Acts 29 members in praying for Mark's repentance and healing.

  1. Doug,

Your first post in this list was why I like reading your blog. You remind us of what it means to be a real christian, and it isn't popular.

On that story, it is amazing how much Satan hates that word crucify isn't it?
