Random Bits

A grand jury in Pennsylvania just issued a 884 page report stating that they have evidence of 301 Roman Catholic priests who were raping little boys and girls. One priest raped a 7 year old girl while he was visiting her in the hospital after she had her tonsils removed. One boy was forced to say confession to the priest who sexually abused him. The stories get worse. The priests "weaponized" their faith to groom, molest, and rape children. They ran a child porn ring in Pittsburgh and Mr. Pope has not said a word

My heart breaks for not only the victims, but also the innocent who are going to be swept up into the maelstrom of public opinion. Because the Roman Catholic church considers itself to be Christian and the public actually believes this, we will be lumped in with the sick men that abused and raped children, and the gutless old men that hid their sins. All Christians are going to suffer for the sins of cassock covered perverts, but Do Not ignore the fact that we Protestants have our own problems like Bill Hybels and the elders of his church who covered it up, and Archbishop Earl Paulk, Creflo Dollar, Jim Bakker, Jimmy Swaggart, Ted Haggard, Eddie Long, Marcus Lamb, Paul Barnes, Lonnie Latham, Earl Paulk, Coy Privette, Joe Barron, Tony Alamo, George Alan Rekers, and let's not forget Aimee Semple McPherson. We will be targets. We must clean house and hold our pastors, elders, and deacons to the biblical standards that God set out to protect our churches from unfit men in leadership

Responses to the Pennsylvania perverts are starting to be heard

Mr. Pope is going to jump right on those Pittsburgh allegations, he really and truly is, but he's got more important things to worry about. It's got to be true, I saw it in the Babylon Bee (Babylon Bee: The transexual socialist gubernatorial candidate's choice for breaking news)

    1. Sadly it was one of those weeks. I have a horrible feeling that this could become the norm, until we are shut down

    1. While I agree that it takes "training" to appreciate the bible (bible study and proper Sunday sermons rather that weepy homilies) Authority? Where in the bible does it say who has the authority? (I'm so tempted to look up Dr. Tim and ask him that question. It would be wrong, but so much fun)

    3. I used to be one of those Catholic youths who didn't have an interest in what the bible says because we were trained to love the church and the rituals and trinkets, not the word of God. We even had a real live Jesuit in the family, a great uncle who was in the Philippines from 1935 to his death in the 80's, which made us a type of royalty in the diocese. I even went to Catholic school for years, and when I transferred to public school I went to CCD classes.

We never got the bible, we got trained on ritual; the order of the mass, the stations of the cross, the rosary, the sacraments, the catechism, the colors of the vestments, the meaning of the altar bells, the flow of communication (pray to MARY, she will pass it on to Jesus, who will mention it to God), the places you will go when you die (hell, limbo, purgatory, heaven), the need to tithe in the first collection, the need to gift in the Second collection, and on and on and on but no bible.

I heard of Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego from spirituals we sang in public school, I learned of the Exodus from watching the 10 Commandments on TV during Easter. What did I learn from the Roman Catholic Church? I learned to hate Jews because they killed Jesus (learned that in Catholic elementary school), to hate protestants because they were apostate, and to hate pagans (everyone else) because they were damned to hell.

I even learned that Sunday mass was mandatory... unless there was a Buffalo Bills game on Sunday, then Saturday evening mass would suffice. There was no one at all, infallible or human, articulating doctrine, just dogma. So I sat down and read it myself, and the entirety of creation is different and wonderful.
