About

Per Fidem Intrepidus means "Fearless Through Faith". My courage isn't my own, it comes from the Holy Spirit, it's my faith in God and my personal savior Christ Jesus that calms my fears and allows me to move forward in this fallen world. Personally I'm afraid of a lot of stuff, but having the faith that Jesus adopted me as his little, sin filled, brother keeps me going.

Random Bits

I haven't been feeling well, but Dr. Awesome and Dr. Chicago have been working overtime to keep me up and running. I honestly thought that as I lay in the hospital, blissfully unpolluted by newsfeed annoyances, that I wouldn't have to write about Mr. Pope or any of his disgusting child raping minions when I got back to the blog.

I'll chart my adventures at "St. Jewish Hospital" next week and how the blessings of 2018 renew my faith and refresh my love in God.

Unfortunately for me, and now unfortunately for you, I checked twitter this morning before I got discharged. Neil over at the Eternity Matters blog had filled the 'twitterverse' with all sorts of news that Twitter works very hard to keep silent, and sure enough - those cassock covered perverts are still in the headlines. Maybe it's their plan to hasten Christ's return by insuring that Satan controls every corner of this world?

#3 place on the list of stories I did not want to see was the Vicar of Christ, Mr. Pope himself, and 30 of his fellow worshipers of the Catechism not only covered up Archbishop Theodore McCarrick’s sexual abuse of seminarians and priests but also repealed the strict canonical sanctions imposed on McCarrick by Pope Benedict XVI

#2 on my list of foul unspeakable horror is Cardinal Blase Cupich's vile, repugnant, stomach-turning insistence that the Pope's policies on global warming and immigration are so much more important than confronting the fact that a large number of Roman Catholic Priests are raping children. He also said that any allegation of the pope's improper governance or conduct is due to racism

#1 on my hit-list of Satan's frivolities is the discovery that the Vicar of Christ, Mr. Pope himself knowingly gave a highly prized Vatican apartment to a gay priest who later used said apartment for a cocaine-fueled homosexual orgy.

Boston, Buffalo, and now Pennsylvania (and let's not forget Chile, Australia, France, and Ireland) - all battlegrounds of sin perpetrated by the Cassock Covered Perverts of the Roman Catholic Church who went so far as to produce child pornography on church property. This sin is not new, and it's not isolated to the northeastern United states. It's pandemic. If the Catholic Church had bothered to clean up their mess they could have prevented this assault on Fr. Hutsko.

As I mentioned last week, the sins of Pope Francis' minions are going to cause a backlash to innocent 'bystanders' and this was just one case, and won't be the last. This isn't by any means a prophesy, it is just an assessment based on my six decades of observing the human condition. The priest attacked in this article was a Byzantine Catholic, not a Roman Catholic, Sometimes it takes a scorecard to tell the Maronites from the Armenians,  but the secular world does not care and will attack what it thinks is a target regardless. By the way, one of the priests on the list in the Buffalo scandal baptized me.

Mexican Cardinal: rape and pedophile abuse victims should be “ashamed”  to accuse “men of the Church.”

The National Catholic Register claims that much of the sexual abuse was not pedophilia but homosexual statutory rape which makes it so much better

Spurgeon Thursday - Geese in their Hoods

Geese in Their Hoods

In the frequent quarrels between the priests and monks of the Church of Rome, the two parties of rogues were silly enough to expose each other's villainies. On the edifices belonging to monasteries, priests were caricatured in the stonework; and on the churches built by priests, the monks and friars were held up to ridicule. A great deal of real truth was thus brought out by their mutual recriminations. The ancient carving below [this is the actual illustration that Spurgeon used] is a specimen of a common caricature representing the clergy as foxes with geese in their hoods; a very admirable picture whether monks or priests were intended. Popery, with its secret confessional and priestly interference at dying beds, is essentially a fox. Puseyism, pretending to be Protestant, and gradually bringing in all the foolery of Rome, is a deep fox indeed. Yet there are geese silly enough to be deceived by priests in this nineteenth century; and so long as the supply of such geese is kept up, the foxes will never cease to prowl.

Reader, do you believe that men like yourself have priestly power? Do you think that they can regenerate infants by sprinkling them, and turn bread and wine into the very body and blood of Jesus Christ? Do you think that a bishop can bestow the Holy Ghost, and that a parish clergyman can forgive sins ? If so, your head can be seen in the picture peeping out from the cowl of the fox. You are the victim of crafty deceivers. Your soul will be their prey in life and in death. They cajole you with soft words, fine vestments, loud pretensions, and cunning smiles, but they will conduct you down to the chambers of death, and lead you to the gates of hell. Silly goose, may grace make thee wise!

Jesus Christ is the true Priest who can forgive all your sins; go to him at once, without the intervention of these pretenders. Make confession to him! Seek absolution from him! The Holy Ghost alone can cause you to be born again, and the grace of God alone can bring you to glory. Avoid Puseyite and Romish foxes, for they seek to make a gain of you, and lead you not to Jesus, but to their Church and all its mummeries. Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and not in these deceivers.

WWUTT Wednesday - Did Jesus (REALLY) Declare All Foods Clean?

Bacon wrapped shrimp - the thought of which sets my mouth to watering but that thought has been known to render rabbis, imams, and hindus apoplectic. Delicious it is, kosher it is not.

Kosher (which means "proper") foods omit most notably pork and shellfish, also state that meat and dairy may not be combined, and meat must be ritually slaughtered and salted to remove all traces of blood. So an innocent pork free cheeseburger is Not Kosher.

Halal (which means "lawful") foods omit pork but some shellfish such as shrimp are debated, clams are definitely haram (unlawful). Since Islamic food law falls under Islamic jurisprudence you can literally lose your head over that bacon wrapped shrimp.

The diet of Hindus usually does not include eggs, fish or meat. Ancient Hindu texts describe the whole of creation as a vast food chain, and the cosmos as a giant food cycle.

The True Origins of the Prosperity Gospel

The True Origins of the Prosperity Gospel AKA Word Faith Theology
By Anton Bosch, pastor-teacher
The prosperity gospel has to be one of the grandest deceptions of all time. A Time poll conducted in the USA in 2006, produced the following statistics:
“17% of Christians surveyed said they considered themselves part of such a movement, while a full 61% believed that God wants people to be prosperous. And 31% – a far higher percentage than there are Pentecostals in America – agreed that if you give your money to God, God will bless you with more money” (Time, Sept. 10, 2006).
From America the message has permeated the whole world, most notably Nigeria where two of the biggest promoters are David Oyedepo, whose Canaanland church seats 55,000, and Enoch Adeboye, whose Redeemed Christian Church of God claims branches in over one hundred countries, 14,000 branches in Nigeria, and 5 million members in Nigeria alone. In 2008 Newsweek magazine listed him as one of the 50 most powerful people in the world.
The prosperity message has mutated into many variants that all share certain common traits and roots. A closely related teaching to the prosperity message is the “word-of-faith” teaching with its erroneous views on faith. Many regard these errors as the same thing and while they are related and claim to produce the same fruit, their doctrinal and historical roots differ.
The word-of-faith message developed simultaneously and parallel to the prosperity message, but its roots trace back through EW Kenyon to Christian Science, while prosperity’s roots trace back through Oral Roberts to Napoleon Hill. This article therefore only deals with the roots of the prosperity gospel which can be summed up as “give to God and He will give back to you” or “sowing and reaping”. (Word of faith is summed up in “name it and claim it” aka “blab it and grab it.”)

Random Bits

A grand jury in Pennsylvania just issued a 884 page report stating that they have evidence of 301 Roman Catholic priests who were raping little boys and girls. One priest raped a 7 year old girl while he was visiting her in the hospital after she had her tonsils removed. One boy was forced to say confession to the priest who sexually abused him. The stories get worse. The priests "weaponized" their faith to groom, molest, and rape children. They ran a child porn ring in Pittsburgh and Mr. Pope has not said a word

My heart breaks for not only the victims, but also the innocent who are going to be swept up into the maelstrom of public opinion. Because the Roman Catholic church considers itself to be Christian and the public actually believes this, we will be lumped in with the sick men that abused and raped children, and the gutless old men that hid their sins. All Christians are going to suffer for the sins of cassock covered perverts, but Do Not ignore the fact that we Protestants have our own problems like Bill Hybels and the elders of his church who covered it up, and Archbishop Earl Paulk, Creflo Dollar, Jim Bakker, Jimmy Swaggart, Ted Haggard, Eddie Long, Marcus Lamb, Paul Barnes, Lonnie Latham, Earl Paulk, Coy Privette, Joe Barron, Tony Alamo, George Alan Rekers, and let's not forget Aimee Semple McPherson. We will be targets. We must clean house and hold our pastors, elders, and deacons to the biblical standards that God set out to protect our churches from unfit men in leadership

The Book of Mormon And It Came To Pass - lifeafterministry

The Book of Mormon And It Came To Pass

From the book by Mark Twain, “Roughing It”, Chapter XVI;

"All men have heard of the Mormon Bible, but few, except the elect have seen it or at least taken the trouble to read it. I brought away a copy from Salt Lake. The book is a curiosity to me. It is such a pretentious affair and yet so slow, so sleepy, such an insipid mess of inspiration. It is chloroform in print.

"If Joseph Smith composed this book, the act was a miracle. Keeping awake while he did it, was at any rate. If he, according to tradition, merely translated it from certain ancient and mysteriously engraved plates of copper, which he declares he found under a stone, in an out of the way locality, the work of translating it was equally a miracle for the same reason.

"The book seems to be merely a prosy detail of imaginary history with the Old Testament for a model followed by a tedious plagiarism of the New Testament. The author labored to give his words and phrases the quaint old fashioned sound and structure of our King James translation of the scriptures. The result is a mongrel, half modern glibness and half ancient simplicity and gravity. The latter is awkward and constrained, the former natural, but grotesque by the contrast. Whenever he found his speech growing too modern, which was about every sentence or two, he ladeled in a few such scriptural phrases as, “exceeding sore,” “and it came to pass,” etc. and made things satisfactory again. “And it came to pass,” was his pet. If he had left that out, his bible would have been only a pamphlet.”

From the Book of Mormon:
2 Nephi 4:14; “…for a more history part are written upon mine other plates.”
Mormon 9:35; “And these things are written that we may rid our garments of the blood of our brethren, who have dwindled in unbelief.”
I had a pastor ask me to provide him with a synopsis of the Book of Mormon and I have to admit that it took a few days to fulfill his request.  It’d be easier to tell you the number of times I’ve dozed off while reading it (100% of the time) than it would be to give a quick analysis.  And as I write this I have an incessant memory of a visit with my mother in Utah.  She was sitting on her couch reading her Book of Mormon and after a half hour or so of not turning a single page I asked her what truths she had gleaned from her experience.

Social Injustice and the Gospel

Social Injustice and the Gospel

by John MacArthur

Scripture says earthly governments are ordained by God to administer justice, and believers are to be subject to their authority. The civil magistrate is “a minister of God to you for good . . . an avenger who brings wrath on the one who practices evil” (Romans 13:1–4). But it is also true that no government in the history of the world has managed to be consistently just. In fact, when Paul wrote that command, the Roman Emperor was Nero, one of the most grossly unjust, unprincipled, cruel-hearted men ever to wield power on the world stage.

As believers, “we know . . . that the whole world lies in the power of the evil one” (1 John 5:19), so worldly power structures are—and always have been—systemically unjust to one degree or another.

Even the United States, though founded on the precept that all members of the human race “are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights,” incongruously maintained a system of forced slavery that withheld the full benefits of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness from multitudes. Many generations of people from African ethnicities were thus legally (but immorally) relegated to subhuman status. According to the 1860 census, there were about four million in the generation of slaves who were being held in servitude when Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation.

The Problem With Mr. Jones

By now you've heard of the left wing shut down of Alex Jones, bull horn of the InfoWars website. I am not a fan of Alec Jones, I've seen a total of maybe 10 minutes of his raucous bluster and came away feeling like I lost IQ points.

YouTube, Facebook, Apple podcast, and Spotify all removed Alex Jones' content from their sites stating that he violated "Community Standards". Oddly, Twitter who is the loudest liberal crybaby of social media sites did not shut him down stating that his content there, the same content on YouTube, Facebook, Apple podcast, and Spotify, did not violate their policies. Twitter shuts down conservatives constantly for posting far softer content that the bellicose clamor of Mr. Jones. Very interesting.

Alex Jones is not a conservative like you and I would consider a conservative, he calls himself a "paleo-conservative" a title which I claimed for myself about 1.4 seconds after the left coined the phrase "neo-conservative". Alex is actually a Ron Paul libertarian. If you've never heard of Alex Jones or heard his bellicose tirades, do not feel like you missed anything. Mr. Jones is loud and bold and quite often dead wrong and to be honest I'm thankful for the quiet on YouTube and can get back to things more important than his anger. I am a very strict strict constructionist so I don't have any first amendment concerns here, but I do have some serious freedom of speech concerns (they are two different things), but discussion of that is for a different forum.

I'm not looking for excuses to avoid writing blog entries, my backlog of excuses is longer than my backlog of unfinished draft posts. Ever try to write a coherent email, let alone a blog post, while on pain killers? The list of excuses is wide and creative, from illness to a hailstorm that destroyed our roof, gutters, and skylights.

However one week ago today my love, my gift from God: Mrs. WideAwakeChristian, was stepping down off a foot stool and looked down to notice that Darling GrandChild #4 was crawling right up behind her. She twisted to avoid stepping on DGC#4 and ended up falling and breaking her wrist. DGC#2 and DGC#4 with a combined age of 4 years and 3 months tried to help her but it took Grandpa to help her her up and whisk her off to the ER.

Returned from the ER with her arm in a splint, Mrs. WideAwakeChristian began complaining that her arm was numb, then she had severe chest pains. My documented superior intellect* combined a numb left arm with chest pains and came up with a reason to set a land speed record to the (very) nearby ER. Prayers to my heavenly Father were answered as the chest pains were found to be pericarditis (very painful but not harmful inflammation of the heart tissue) and the numbness in her left arm was the splint being wrapped too tight. As always the prayer warriors of the First Congregation of the Bereans came through, as did a lot of 462s** who joined in the prayer chain. Now it's all over but the healing. (I just jinxed the rest of August didn't I? No worries, I'm not superstitious. It's bad luck to be superstitious.)

Willow Creek continues to circle the drain as even more allegations of Bill Hybels sexual sin come to light. Many churches are beginning to see that the credibility of Willow Creek's Global Leadership Summit as well as the leadership of Willow Creek has been undermined by the Hybels controversy. One wonders if this undermines the credibility of the entire Emergent Church movement

Keep an eye on Canada, eh? Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Canada, they have a very singable national anthem and they mostly speak English. "Mostly" meaning that they use the words serviette, parkade, and gotch (among others) as words for real things*. I've lived near (and some times north of) Canada most of my life, and I've spent a lot of time up there, so I know a few things about the Great White North. It's true that they really do say eh? a lot, I know what a Chesterfield is (it's not a cigarette, a cigarette is a dart), and I know that they do not have a freedom of speech.

Although the Canadian constitution says it recognizes the supremacy of God in the very first sentence, and states that everyone "has the freedom of thought, belief, opinion and expression" in paragraph 2.(b), it clearly states in paragraph 1. that "the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms guarantees the rights and freedoms set out in it subject only to such reasonable limits prescribed by law as can be demonstrably justified in a free and democratic society." Get that part about subject only to such reasonable limits prescribed by law...? The US Constitution specifically forbids congress from making a law that abridges the freedom of speech, the Canadian Charter uses words like demonstrably justified and reasonable limits to give their law makers the right to crush the bible and throw Christians like Bill Whatcott in prison for handing out Jesus Saves pamphlets. Canada bears watching with Justin Trudeau and his antics because stopping the spread of the Good News for the "Greater Good" may catch on elsewhere

Speaking of all this law stuff, why isn't God in the Constitution of the Unites States?

With this midterm election coming up there is no excuse for believers not to get out and vote, and vote wisely.
