Rejoice In The Lord Always

4 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! 5 Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. 6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. (Philippians 4:4-8)
This sin sick broken world needs a cure for the ills of today, and it's not going to come from us, yet at the same time it is. We Christians are not the enforcers of morality, nor are we the cure-all end-all for the social ills that are inflicting the world. God is. We were sent out to spread the Gospel through our words and deeds, to show our fellow man the correct way to worship God and love each other. God is the enforcing authority, the cure for what ails this nation, and our hope for deliverance. We are His P.R. team, His mouthpiece on earth, His signposts pointing the way to His salvation.

In case you haven't noticed it, we Christians are under attack. Not like our sainted brothers and sisters being crushed under the sledgehammer of ISIS, our time of tribulation is just starting. The left is still warming up and planning their hate filled attack. Our persecution is just starting from without and within; the wolves in our midst are slowly starting to take off their sheep suits.

As we follow His direction and spread His word and stand up for His goodness we invite attack from Satan's followers, both the overt followers and those that have no idea which master they serve. And we're going to get discouraged and sickened at what we see and what we hear. Many of us are already sickened and this is just the start of the darkness. We need a survival kit.

Philippians 4:4-8 is exactly what we need as a spiritual survival kit until God takes us home. As we slip further into darkness we first need to remember to rejoice in the Lord! He has kept every promise He has made and He has promised to take us home to Him, He's even provided mansions for us when we get there. However keep in mind that as the world rises against us, we will get discouraged but we will find peace in the Lord. The peace of the Lord is found in 4 easy steps: 1. be anxious for nothing 2. pray about everything 3. be thankful for all things, 4. Concentrate on the good things.

Many cannot find peace with God and grow discouraged, if you find yourself in that position James 4:3 tells us to see if we are praying with the correct motives. Our motive here must be clear, to find peace that we may worship the Lord and share His word more completely. We need not fear these days ahead, instead we should be looking forward to them. We should be eager to see prophesy coming true before our eyes, we should be looking forward to see the Lord working to support us as we do His work
No weapon that is formed against you will prosper; And every tongue that accuses you in judgment you will condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, And their vindication is from Me," declares the LORD. (Isaiah 54:17)
