It's October, my month for considering and praying over Spiritual Warfare, and believe me when I say that if you start researching Spiritual Warfare there's an entire rabbit warren of horror that you get pulled into. It's the end of rational thought and the beginning of what can only be a satanic plot - it's the weird world of the Conspiracy Theory.
A conspiracy theory is an explanatory proposition that accuses
two or more persons, a group, or an organization of having caused or
covered up, through secret planning and deliberate action, an illegal or
harmful event or situation. There is no such thing as a positive conspiracy theory such as "All the pastors in town are conspiring to do everything they can to insure our salvation" or "All cable companies are conspiring to insure we get top notch family entertainment at a bargain price" It's always a shadowy group bent on world domination, or at least domination of a part of the world they can easily grasp.
The current "whipping boy" of the conspiracy theorists is the Illuminati. The name refers to the Bavarian Illuminati, an enlightenment-era secret society founded on May 1, 1776. The society's (publicly stated) goals were to oppose superstition, prejudice, religious influence over public life and abuses of state power, and to support women's education and gender equality. As with many other things the Illuminati were outlawed at the insistence of the Roman Catholic Church who reigned supreme over philosophy, science, and education. The name Illuminati remains used by several groups for their own purposes, from the "Billionaire Boys Club" (also called the Bilderbergers) to the satanic and most foul followers of Alester Crowley, the Ordo Templi Orientis.
Conspiracy theories cover so much territory! The New World Order, 911, Obama's Birth Certificate, the Kennedy Assassination, Freemasonry, Obama's Legal License, Denver International Airport, Mind Control, Occultism in Hollywood, Occultism in the Music Industry, Occultism in the Vatican, NSA, CIA, UN, the list never seems to end, and the depths of bizarre never seem to end. For example; the death of Whitney Houston has been attributed to so many different things, the most popular are that she was a ritualistic blood sacrifice to Satan on the behest of (pick only one please); Nicki Minaj (who ever that is), the Illuminati (most popular claim), Blue Ivy (daughter of Beyonce and Jay-Z), Madonna (aka Granny GaGa), and British
Pop Singer Adele who won six Grammys while Whitney Houston lay on a slab in the LA County coroners office.
People like conspiracy theories, it gives us an illusion of control. People hate randomness, we dread the fact that without warning a truck can come careening around the corner and take us off this mortal plane in an instant. If there's a cabal behind what happens then we have something or someone to blame, we think we have the remote possibility of stopping what ever is causing us such pain. People also do not like to think that so many people can do such evil things because they want to, it's more comforting for us to think that much of Hollywood is carrying on like Charlie Sheen stoned on crack and Viagra because they're being forced to do so against their will rather than carrying on like they are because they simply want to.
Look around you at what is going on; the deadly ebola virus is spreading, new and terrible diseases are appearing, people are illegally pouring across our borders bringing disease and terrorists with them while the government turns their backs, the constitution is being shredded, local governments are going bankrupt, our freedoms are being taken away, the government is actively spying on us,our people are being decapitated by terrorists, our children are being overwhelmed by occult propaganda, while the president plays golf the accomplishment of our military are wiped out by the "Junior Varsity", entertainment is becoming more raunchy, and entertainers are clearly having mental melt downs and drowning themselves in alcohol and drugs.
Who could blame you if you think that someone is trying to destroy the world as we know it? If you think that there is someone out to destroy everything you know and hold dear in their world you're not paranoid. You, in fact, are absolutely right, someone really is trying to destroy your world:
1 But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. 2 For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, 4 treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5 holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; Avoid such men as these. (2 Timothy 3:1-5)
We Christian don't call this paranoia, we call it eschatology, it's just that we have the road map to study, and Satan is following that road map to the letter. If you sit back and observe what is going on with an eschatological view it's dizzying to see the range and complexity of Satan's plan to rule the world. The signs are clear, what was once profane is now sacramental to today's society. What once happened behind closed doors is now happening in our parks and streets. And a faith of love and redemption is now branded as intolerant and hateful and is slowly being singled out for persecution.
As I filter through these conspiracy theories many sound ridiculous (dinosaurs helped build the pyramids? That's at least funny, the one about chemtrails, as a recovering aircraft mechanic I can only find it to be "out there") but as you read through them, and keep in mind end time prophesy, some theories strike a cord. One world government - religion - currency? I'm sure the UN is ready to step in to be the one world government, and I'm sure the antichrist will seriously consider their offer, but we're not ready for that yet. One world religion is also still a few years out and I'm sure Mr. Pope is ready to loose the Jesuit hit squads on any heretic that dares to question his authority, but he'll need the antichrists permission for that first. But the one world currency is practically here. It's not silver or gold, nor even paper. It's plastic. You can use most of those cards in your wallet; credit, debit, EBT, almost anywhere in the world.
There's numerous conspiracy theories about occult symbology and influence in movies and music. This one really has be worried because you can really see it happening. Pastor Schimmel does a much better job than I ever will at describing Satans influence on the entertainment industry at GoodFight Ministries,

The thing is, people really love conspiracy theories, and I think the main reason why people love them is because, whether you realize it or not, we are inside of one right now. Satan is conspiring against God, he wants to take over the world. Satan knows he's going to lose, he knows scripture better than any human alive, but his sin, the sin of pride, is making him think he can win. To insure victory Satan trying to take every soul he can away from God, and to do this he's got a long complex Plan of Damnation.
This plan is mind boggling in its complexity, he attacks the church, he attacks society, he attacks government, he attacks the family, if you can name it, he either attacks it or he already owns it. Look around: it's getting harder and harder to find a church that remains true to the bible, (I can't wait for the day a pastorix (ministerix?) tells me that her church is true to the bible) to attack the church Satan is using everything in his arsenal: sex, drugs, greed, pride, arrogance. Hymns proclaiming God's glory have become "worship music" which at times is little more than "I Love [Fill In The Blank] And [Fill In The Blank] Loves Me" tripe that can be played in the church on Sunday and in the bar on Friday if you change the name in the blank.
So here we are in a fallen, sin sick world and it's falling further and getting sicker every day. Examples of what happens when we reject God's grace are all around us, from the destruction of our children, the destruction of the family, to the destruction of moral values of our country. I guess the problem is that we've had it too good for too long. Many of us have forgotten that we are not residents of this rock, we, in reality, are far behind enemy lines, surrounded by enemy forces. Think of us Christians, we Band of Brothers, as paratroopers
In case you missed it, Satan is called the "prince of the power of the air" in Ephesians 2:2. In John 12:31 he is the "ruler of this world", in 2 Corinthians 4:4 he is called the "god of this world". All of this means Satan has direct influence on the ideals, opinions, goals, hopes and views of the
majority of people living here on this planet. His perverse influence also encompasses the world’s
philosophies, education, and commerce. The thoughts, ideas, speculations, false religions and false teachers of the world are under his control and have sprung
from his lies and deceptions.
I wouldn't be surprised if you haven't heard about Satan's influence over the world in church lately, nor would I be surprised if you haven't heard about sin at all in church either, because it's not a warm, fuzzy, friendly sermon. It's a cold dark scary sermon that when told properly has a happy ending, but it's not 'seeker sensitive' in the least. John tells us this:
So here we are in a fallen, sin sick world and it's falling further and getting sicker every day.
18 We know that no one who is born of God sins; but He who was born of God keeps him, and the evil one does not touch him. 19 We know that we are of God, and that the whole world lies in the power of the evil one. 20 And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life. 21 Little children, guard yourselves from idols. (1 John 5:18-21)
One true certainty is that we will be victorious over Satan, being born again of God means that the evil one cannot touch us. Actually the word John uses is ἅπτω (haptō) which literally means to grab a hold of and set fire to. because we belong to God, Satan must work within God's sovereignty and cannot do what God will not allow. If you look at the example of Job, God allows Satan to persecute, tempt, test, and accuse the believer, God protects his children and places definite limits on Satan's influence or power.
Another true certainty that we can count on as Christians is that we belong to God. According to John there's only two kinds of people in the world, those that belong to God, and everyone else. Whether they know it or not, 'everyone else' belongs to the evil world system that is Satan's domain, which is why I compare us to paratroopers, surrounded by the enemy. It also makes us targets of Satan's conspiracy plots.
So having said all of this, consider this one last rant if you are in a church which hasn't mentioned sin, or only mentions is on rare occasions, guess what? CONSPIRACY! yepper. Sure 'nuff. This is a conspiracy against you and your soul. If your minister hasn't mentioned sin, why does he bother talking about Jesus? Sin is the reason why Jesus came to Earth and allowed himself to be tortured and killed - to pay for our debt of sin.
To illustrate what I mean, let's use an extreme example - Joel Osteen. Joel Osteen never talks about sin, he talks about the easy things, he talks about God, and love, and harmony, and how great it is to be a Christian, and all the material stuff God is going to give you. Joel never talks about Jesus, surveys of his sermons and tweets show Jesus is rarely mentioned, which is odd for someone who claims to be a "Christian". I believe one reason why Osteen doesn't speak of Jesus is because he never talks about sin. If you don't talk about Jesus there's no need to talk about sin, and if you don't talk about sin there's really no need to talk about Jesus, and without Jesus saving grace, what is there to protect you from Satan?
NOTHING!
Now can you see one small part of Satan's conspiracy falling into place? Osteens prosperity Gospel is the worship of worldly stuff, and Satan's world is nothing but worldly stuff - idols. And by lying to you about Jesus (a lie of omission is still a lie) Osteen is leading you right into the arms of the ruler of the world and all his stuff.
Again, this is one small tiny facet of a hugely complex interwoven plan to separate you from your Father in Heaven and your adoptive brother Jesus. You can read about conspiracies about mind control and hidden military bases and the Denver International Airport (which is actually pretty spooky, I've seen a lot of that stuff) all day long, it's nothing compared to what Satan is doing by sewing little seeds of doubt, by leading your loved ones away from you, by corrupting society with filth and perversions then pointing the finger at you and screaming INTOLERANCE!!!
What can we do about all of this?
- Repent
- Pray
- Repeat
