Signs of the End Times

This article came from www.bibleprobe.com and is based on Ray Comfort's book "Nostradamus: Attack on America", I've taken a couple of liberties with the text, adding a few pertinent additions here and there, but the message is the same. And the message is as terrifying as it is inspiring. (And if you don't understand why I call it inspiring, drop me a line)

1. False Bible teachers would be money hungry. They would be smooth talkers, have many followers, and slur the Christian faith (2 Peter 2:1-3) You can see a quick rundown of some examples at my post here, and some extreme examples at: Fakemessiah.com (If these charlatans would have read James 3:1 they'd be pumping gas at the local Kum 'n Go and be praying nonstop for forgiveness)

2. Immortality would be increasingly evident at the end of the age (2 Timothy 3:3) Anyone with access to news knows that immorality is running rampant throughout our society, quite often with the blessing of our government. I've heard it said that the punishment on our society for encouraging abortion and gay marriage is abortion and gay marriage.

3. Earthquakes would be in diverse places (Matthew 24:7) Currently the number of earthquakes of a magnitude of 7.0 and above is constant, but the number of earthquakes below 7.0 is increasing, as is our ability to detect and locate them in places far from centers of civilization.

4. Stress would be part of living (2 Timothy 3:1) Ever noticed how stressed-out kids are these days? At first  glance you'd say that they have everything they could want, why are they stressed? But if you look, both kids and adults are under intense pressure from a Godless society to emulate what they see around them; drugs, rampant sexual immorality, violence, and the never ending worship of money. And

5. Many wars would erupt (Matthew 24:6) Just a reminder: North Korea just set off a miniaturized nuke, their ally Iran has long range missiles. It's going to get ugly.

6. People would forsake the Ten Commandments as a moral code, committing adultery, stealing, lying, and killing (Matthew 24:12)

7. There would be a cold religious system, in denying God's power (2 Timothy 3:5) What better example in the Emergent Church's seeker sensitive culture of heresy. Instead of preaching God's word and bowing to His will, the Emergent Church are upsurping His authority, spreading false doctrine like the Restoration Doctrine, and spending more time entertaining the goats than educating the sheep with their atrocious circus / night club entertainment.

8. Men would substitute fantasy in place of Christian truth (2 Timothy 4:4). This is so evident at Christmas when the birth of the Savior is lost behind the myth of Santa Claus.

9. Deadly diseases would be prevalent (Matthew 24:7). The worldwide increase in AIDS deaths is almost inestimable. Over 160,000 Americans die of cancer each year.

10. The fact that God once flooded the earth (the Noahic flood) would be denied (2 Peter 3:5-6). There is a mass of fossil evidence to prove this fact, yet it is flatly ignored by the scientific world because of its uncanny implication. Yet at the same time archaeologists have found that every ancient civilization on earth has a flood story in their history.

11. The institution of marriage would be forsaken by many (1 Timothy 4:3) more and more couples are living together with no thought of responsibility to each other or the children their union may product.

12. There would be an increase in famines (Matthew 24:7) The sad fact is that most famines are man-made. Where crops fail for one reason or another there's dozens of aid societies more than willing to airlift in food, most of which is taken by a belligerent government who fully intend to use famine as a weapon against their adversaries. And now governments are diverting food crops to ethanol production even while in the middle of an oil glut causing food shortages.

13. Vegetarianism would increase (1 Timothy 4:3-4) not only that but how many warnings are we getting on a regular basis to avoid eating X and avoid eating Y for Z reason which eventually turns out to be a false warning based on bad research. Now we have cities banning certain foods for "your own good"

14. There would be a cry for peace (1 Thessalonians 5:3) I live in Denver, it's hard to find someone in the Boulder area whose vocabulary extends past "Peace out man."

15. The possession of Jerusalem would be at the center of international turmoil (Zechariah 12:3) And it's just going to get worse

16. Knowledge would increase (Daniel 12:4) 80% percent of the world's total knowledge has been brought forth in the last decade and that 90% percent of all the scientists who have ever lived are alive today.

17. There would be hypocrites within the Church (Matthew 13:25-30) Of course the most glaring example would be Jim Bakker but with the scandals going on at Trinity Broadcasting and IHOP, and people like Rick Warren talking out both sides of his mouth, I truly believe that we're just seeing the tip of the iceberg

18. There would be an increase of religious cults/false teachers (Matthew 24:11 & 24) Neo-paganism is on a meteoric rise, most of which is fantasy and indulging selfish desire in the guise of worship of the very demons that their 'religion' claims do not exist. (1 Timothy 4:1)

19. The future would seem fearful to many (Luke 21:26)

20. Humanity would become materialistic (2 Timothy 3:4)

21. There would be many involved in travel (Daniel 12:4)

22. The Christian Gospel would be preached as a warning to all nations (Matthew 24:14) With the advent of the internet God's word can be spread world wide, deep into the heart of nations that officially reject His word and worship their own deitys.

23. Jesus said Christians would be hated "for His name's sake" (Matthew 24:9) Despite the denials of atheists, persecution of Christians is on the rise throughout the world while Barak Hussein Obama continues his war against Christian values.

24: There shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars;  (Luke 21:25-26). Notice the asteroids lately? There's going to be more of them

25: Youth would become rebellious. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy (2 Timothy 3:2)

26: Men would mock the warning signs of the end of the age saying, "for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation." (2 Peter 3:4). The Bible even reveals their motivation, they love lust (2 Peter 3:3). They fail to understand that a day to the Lord is as a thousand years to us. God is not subject to the time that He created. He can flick through time as we flick through the pages of a history book. The reason He seems to be silent, is because He is patiently waiting, not willing that any perish, but that all come to repentance.
