About

Per Fidem Intrepidus means "Fearless Through Faith". My courage isn't my own, it comes from the Holy Spirit, it's my faith in God and my personal savior Christ Jesus that calms my fears and allows me to move forward in this fallen world. Personally I'm afraid of a lot of stuff, but having the faith that Jesus adopted me as his little, sin filled, brother keeps me going.

Hillsong's Joel Houston publicly announced that "Evolution is Undeniable" and I agree with him (this time) but only in the short term. "Survival of the fittest" is an undeniable law of nature, if an ice age breaks out, the parrots aren't going to fare as well as the polar bears, if you drain a pond only the residents with feet will survive; ducks and frogs.

When talking about how amoeba become fish become lizards become monkeys became people, the mechanics still don't add up. The difference between human and primate DNA is too vast to uphold the claim that humans evolved from primates. And how come our evolutionary friends never claim that apes evolved from humans? They look like people, they eat bananas like people, they even try to talk like people. Science rocks.

2 Thessalonians 2:1-3 Tells us that before Jesus returns the Great Apostasy must happen first. For those of you that don't know what the Great Apostasy, or massive falling away from the faith, looks like; here it is

Picture a steam locomotive, a massive steam locomotive. It takes a huge effort to to get them moving, they start out slowly with a hiss of steam and an occasional chuff. But then slowly they gain speed and momentum, and before you know it they are blasting along and nothing can stop them (I know the fellow driving the locomotive in the last clip). At startup a steam locomotive can barely move it's own train, but once it gets up to speed there's nothing that can stop it.

It's like that with the damage done to Christianity especially from the relentless left. They start with a weak little seed of doubt, and as that grows and gains momentum they add to it: "Why not have women as pastors? Nothing wrong with that, Paul's epistles were written centuries ago, they no longer apply". Atheist worship leader? Nothing wrong with that, music is music. More and more until you're worshiping the sin instead of He who was born without sin. What has changed that we should cast aside the theology of our fathers? The only thing that has changed is the intensity of Satan's attacks. Here's Rev. Timothy Rogers performing Satan's favorite trick

Right after I clicked "Publish" on Random Bits last week I came down with a severe bout of bronchitis. Now I don't think that the two occurrences have anything in common. The bronchitis could be caused by many things; air pollution, smoke, pollen, collusion, my manliness, or my inability to see sin as anything but sin (I think I just jinxed my CrissFit membership) But before I go full Gloria Copeland I think I will follow my doctors orders. After all, it was her lecture that I interrupted with my coughing and hacking. Pulmonologists don't like their lectures to be interrupted with the coughing and hacking of their own patients, it looks bad.

This wasn't Dr. Awesome lecturing (she treats my COPD and a couple of other acronyms), this was Dr. Chicago who treats my Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension which is a pretty rare thing. The cause is unknown, and I have only a few of the risk factors (rule out the major risks:  HIV/AIDS, sickle cell disease, cocaine use) which leaves me with blood clots in the lungs (no one knows how they got there), COPD, really really bad sleep apnoea, and living at high altitudes. It was Dr. Awesome's staff that got me on the road to recovery from the bronchitis, and a week later I am feeling better. Not finished with it, but better. And I thank God every day that He led me to these medical champions who keep me going so I can worship Him from down here a little bit longer. So with that I'm outta here for about a week. I'm headed up to North Dakota to visit my kids and if summer occurs up there I'll post the new about it here first!

Television is a weird, strange, insane world, and worse: it's a public example of the liberal mind. One of the best things about television is Mike Rowe, a Christian man who espouses the joy of hard work. His show "Dirty Jobs" was one of the last watchable things on the discovery channel. Sadly his new show "Somebody's Gotta Do It" is unwatchable. Not because of content, it's incredible (you can find segments on You Tube), but because of location. First it was on the ratings Hindenburg CNN, now it's on apostate TBN. Many people won't watch TBN because it's a "Christian" channel, but I won't TBN because it's an NAR channel.

Television is not a "slice of life" drawing inspiration from the wide range of real life in America, it's propaganda that is laser locked onto what ever the radical left believes needs to be shoved down the throats of the unwitting masses. And there's no escaping the horrors of the liberal agenda on television. ABC/Disney is the company that chopped "Last Man Standing" for the sin of espousing Conservative, Christian, Family values. And as for Rosanne... If you need me, I'll be watching re-runs of Fixer Upper. You can tell it's a Christian production because the liberals hate it

Mr. Pope makes a mockery of God's word again. Seriously, how can become chief cook and bottle washer of the top religious money making machine in history, claim to be the human embodiment of Christ here on earth, and be completely ignorant of Leviticus 18:22, Romans 1:26-28, or 1 Corinthians 6:9-10?

It looks like Jesus has a part time job selling high end luxury business jets to megachurch pastors - "People like Copeland, Benny Hinn, T.D. Jakes, Joel Osteen and others who push this malignant distortion of Christianity prey on the poor and vulnerable, enriching themselves at the expense of the downtrodden."

If you wonder why Jesus castigates a wicked and adulterous generation for looking for a sign, maybe it's because you can make Christianity look stupid, like Charisma Mag does

Looking At The Numbers: In His wisdom God gave us 10 fingers and once that fact was recognized, His greatest creation's greatest past times quickly became counting things. Blogger and Wordpress gives us bloggers lists of things that have been counted, for us. Things like the fact that last week more people in Russia read my blog than that of folks in the United States (736 to 557 page views) which is very interesting. Is it Christianity or is it English that is becoming more widespread in Russia?

I also learned that over the history of this blog some people have been accessing it using computers with a Unix operating system. That is seriously űber nerd! I can also see that Internet Explorer is still quite a thing, while Opera is hardly a thing at all, (Seriously - try Opera with Duck Duck Go, you'll thank me) and that my #1 most viewed post is still the Cult Of Furtick.

Recently Mr. Furtick's antics made me want to do a full post of on his latest comedy stand-up routine about "Sneaky Jesus" just to see if the pageview count of that entry could beat the pageview count of the Cult of Furtick. But I can't. I just don't have the stomach for that. Furtick starts off dressed in his hungover-just-rolled-off-the-couch best and opens his monologue by insulting the sovereignty of Jesus (or is he insulting the Christians that actually have READ the bible and understand the sovereignty of Jesus?) If you have the moxie to watch his undisciplined screed, ask yourself "How can someone whose coming was foretold for centuries sneak up on anyone?" Keep in mind this was brought to you by Charismamag.org, the folks who brought you the Sneaky Squid Spirit.  remember John 18:22. Most of all, keep the goats ensnared in the Cult of Furtick in your prayers that they get the message from the Holy Spirit that it's not about them, it's not about Mr. Furtick, and it's not about Mr. Furtick's money, it's about the sovereignty of Jesus, because they are not getting that message from Mr. Furtick.

Dr. John MacArthur elucidates Apostle Paul’s “characteristics of false teachers and the very works that mark them” in Galatians 5:7-12.

Speaking about Mr. Furtick and his money, it's not just real Christians that want him to tone it down, his neighbors want his satellite church to dial it back a notch also.

Yet another "Christian" pastor has been accused of sexual misconductWith the sexual antics going on in the Roman church for the past decades (and more) the world's eye is on Christianity as a whole. Pastoral search committees and church boards need to concentrate on 1 Timothy 3:2-3 and Titus 3:7-9 because the Pastor is the the face of the church that the whole world looks at.

Mr. Pope calls for a ban on all weapons. Since he didn't specify what kind of weapons he wants banned he clearly must be talking about all weapons: guns, artillery, bombs, missiles, rockets  bows and arrows, cutlery of all forms, motorized vehicles, stones, sticks, and firm language. Unfortunately for Catholics who believe that God is not a god of confusion, Mr. Pope doesn't bother to read his own rules

As you may know Blogger, the site I use to publish this blog, is owned by Google (which may explain why Blogger hasn't upgraded their interface in years). Yes, Google is one of those companies that hands out your personal information faster than a used car dealership hands out your phone number to every fly by night telemarketer (and if you didn't know that car dealers do that, then shame on you). But so what? I've been saying this since 1995: Don't put anything on the internet that you don't want everyone on internet to use. There are no secrets on the web, so why is everyone shocked that Google and Facebook are suddenly doing everything that I've been saying that they could be doing? Am I going to pull my blog off of Blogger because it's owned by Google? Of course not, in fact I'm going to leave it on Blogger in the hope Google reads my blog and learns something. Once again Mr. Pope displays a shocking lack of knowledge of Christianity by stating that there is no hell. My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ showed his disagreement with Mr. Pope in Matthew 25:46. If you search for the interview that Mr. Pope came out as an annihilationist you's see a WHOLE LOT of articles from the Vatican stating that Mr. Pope just might not have said that. They don't say he DIDN'T say it, they just say "he might not have said that"

Do I believe he said that? Yes I do, I've been expecting this. Mr. Pope has a history of spewing gaffs and bad theology. Mr. Pope has a habit of telling his audience what they want to hear, and the truth be damned. This time he was speaking to a 80+ year old atheist who wanted to hear that there was no hell. Just recently he called on his followers to openly battle Satan, and nowhere in the bible are we allowed to do that, we are to hold fast and wait for Jesus. Right after his coronation Mr. Pope announced that the whole "I am the way" thing was wrong that that no one really needs Jesus to be saved. He even claimed that if a Christian cannot hold to the perfection of Jesus it would be better if they were an atheist condemned to a hell he doesn't believe in.

It's been a weird busy year so far, but the Lord is there to brace me and my family up. First, son #2 shattered his leg snowboarding causing compartment syndrome and DVT blood clots, then son #4 got hit from behind while sitting at a red light by a woman with no insurance and stolen plates on her car. I didn't know, or know of Billy Graham other than the fact that he was a Protestant preacher and occasionally network television was occasionally interrupted for one of his crusades. Being raised in a very Roman Catholic house we didn't watch his crusades, and when I did tune in, I didn't see any knights or horses or Ottomans, so I didn't understand what kind of a crusade it was. Since then I learned that he was knighted as an Honorary Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire, so yeah, crusader.

I'm not making fun of an incredible life, from what I have learned of Billy Graham in the past few weeks I'm think he would have enjoyed that 'crusader' pun, because after all his nick-name was "automatic dishwasher". I found it interesting that he was a target of the Ku Klux Klan, Billy was a registered Democrat his entire life which may have upset the Klan even more because the real reason why the KKK was after Rev. Graham is because Billy and Mike were friends and worked together for civil rights. I just discovered that the Reverend Graham preached in Korea. I've lived in Korea and discovered that the Christians there are incredibly happy to be Christians and love sharing Jesus. Billy Graham was there in 1973 and one evening 1.1 million people, mostly traveling on foot, attended his Crusade. He will lie in honor in the US Capitol Rotunda

While CNN embarrasses the entire nation with ooohs and ahhhs over Kim Jong Un's half sister Kim Yo Jong, let's keep in mind that she is the Minister of Propaganda and Agitation of the most repressive regime on earth. She is the Joseph Goebbels of North Korea, and considering the drooling plaudits from CNN and their ilk, she's done her job very well. Lets keep in mind how brutally North Korea treats their own people. Millions are starving, so starving that they're eating dirt to quell the pangs of hunger. But wait there's more: if you are caught with a bible or a portion of a bible, or just a bible verse written on a scrap of pape,r then you and your entire family including parents and grandparents will be sent to political prison camps (kwanliso). There you will be subject to enslavement/forced labor, torture, persecution, rape and sexual violence, and  extra-judicial killing.

Documented incidents against Christians include being hung on a cross over a fire, crushed under a steamroller, herded off bridges, and trampled underfoot. A policy of guilt by association applies, meaning that the relatives of Christians are also detained regardless of whether they share the Christian belief, so if you are caught with a bible, your entire family will be "disappeared". Even North Koreans who have escaped to China, and who are or become Christians, are often repatriated and subsequently imprisoned in a political prison camp. I like football, I'm not crazy about football, but I do enjoy a game if one of my two teams is playing. I am originally from the Buffalo NY area, which means that I have two teams to root for:
    1. The Buffalo Bills
    2. Any team playing against the Patriots
Which means going in to Super Bowl LII I should have been an Eagles fan, had I bothered to watch the game. But like an increasing number of people I didn't care. Being a veteran and friend of many a disabled veteran I found myself not caring about multi millionaires and their pet peeves.

I could go on and on but in the end it's not about freedom of speech, it's about respect. If you want to say it's about freedom of speech, then this is me being free with speech by saying you're wrong, it's about respect. There are things bigger than their issues and maybe the NFL would be better place if everyone with a million dollar paycheck had emulated JJ Watt, and instead of sitting down they should have stood up and made a difference. That being said I now wish I had paid more attention to the Eagles. After reading this article and this article and this article I found reason to enjoy the Eagles, maybe I'll watch one of their games next year... if they play the Bills (or the patriots)

Something has been weighing on my heart a lot lately and that is the response we as Christians should take on attacks on our churches. Last November a hate filled failure of a human being walked into a church in Sutherland Springs Texas and murdered 26 people. Officials tell us that attacks on the church are not religiously motivated, which is not true. Just about every shooting in a house of worship could have happened somewhere else.

The Knoxville Unitarian Universalist church shooting was politically motivated, it could have happened at a any DNC office. The Charleston church shooting was racially motivated, it could have happened almost anywhere. The Sutherland Springs shooting was motivated because a hate filled failure of a human being hated his mother in law. He could have attacked her in her home, her grocery store, anywhere she liked to be. These three and other shootings could have happened elsewhere but they didn't. I believe that these shootings happened in a house of worship because that's where Satan wants the war taken. Churches across the country are beefing up security because of these and other shootings, and I could come up with a security plan, but churches short of money pits like Castle Osteen couldn't afford it. So how do you fight Satan? You can't. You do what you can and you take your worries to Jesus. Let Him do the heavy lifting.

Pray for our Chinese brothers in Christ who disappeared and are probably being held by the Chinese government security apparatus. Christian persecution is rampant in China.

2018 Prophetic Roundup

You may not have asked for it but the folks at Fighting For the Faith compared the prophesies that self appointed prophets, many of whom are self appointed apostles too, spewed shared with for this year. "I walk through this sinful world as a
pilgrim in a foreign country" - CH Spurgeon
It's over. 2017 is in the bag, it's a done deal, stick a fork in it. Not that 2017 was a bad year, and by looking at the economic numbers you'd think it was an outstanding year. I'm not going to get into a rehash of 2017, there are plenty of click-bait slide shows out there to show you the best/worst movies of 2017, the celebrity deaths of 2017, the sex scandals of 2017, the top news stories of 2017... ad nausium.

What is weighing on my heart is something I haven't seen in a slide show yet - the Great Apostasy of 2017. Nothing sums it up better than a twitter "conversation" I had with a member of the "Christian" left. When challenged by this person to name Jesus top commandment I replied "Love the lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind" I was informed that I was wrong, it's to love your neighbor. And that's where Satan is attacking the church, our sinful neighbor has replaced God as the object of worship, rather than spreading the gospel to them, we're trampling the gospel for them. To top it off, the church has been filled with false prophesy, false teaching, occultism, and piles and piles of mammon. And those in the wrong are those that point this out. It's thrilling to watch bible prophesy come alive in front of your eyes, it's also saddening

"I walk through this sinful world as a
pilgrim in a foreign country" - CH Spurgeon
I've always been leery of big company Christmas parties. For one thing there's nothing Christian about them, instead Christ is replaced with myths and alcohol. Still, they did show that the higher-ups care about employee spirit. The reason why I'm leery is that the most awesome Christmas parties I've attended in the civilian world preceded company collapse. When I worked for Andalon.com our 2000 Christmas party was Spectacular! and in the week that followed the company announced it's bankruptcy and we were all out of jobs. Talk about a Y2K bummer! The same thing happened with another company I worked for: Adelphia.

I could say that it just applies to companies that start with an A, but the same thing happened at Time Warner Cable, which also no longer exists. Maybe it's just me? Possibly, my current company has either phased out Christmas parties, or (much more likely) they just didn't invite my team. (I knew there was a reason they moved us to that dank basement!)  All that party stuff is just a distraction to the real meaning of Christmas: We have been blessed with our promised Savior! His birth was just the beginning of His wonderful ministry on earth and should be celebrated with great joy, almost as much joy as the news of His resurrection. So on Sunday I will join with my congregation of Bereans, twice, and celebrate the Good News.
