About

Per Fidem Intrepidus means "Fearless Through Faith". My courage isn't my own, it comes from the Holy Spirit, it's my faith in God and my personal savior Christ Jesus that calms my fears and allows me to move forward in this fallen world. Personally I'm afraid of a lot of stuff, but having the faith that Jesus adopted me as his little, sin filled, brother keeps me going.

Random Bits

If you were of the world, the world would love its own;
but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out
of the world,  because of this the world hates you.
John 15:19
The media lied to us? Seriously? Well, yeah, what did you expect? I watched it happen. One of the first things US forces found in Iraq during Gulf War II was a warehouse full of empty "Bean Cans". Bean cans are bombs built to deliver chemical weapons, and an empty bean can is simply a bomb casing with no chemical inside. The media said that since the bombs were empty that proves there's no WMD's in Iraq and the story died. However any weapons guy (myself included) will tell you, the empty bomb, or artillery shell is the hard part to make, the easy part is mixing up the chemicals. Bug spray is actually diluted nerve gas, and Iraq had an inordinate amount of insecticide plants.

Did you go see the new Left Behind movie? Me neither. If you're pondering the possibility of going to see it, I suggest you read Pastor Joe Schimmel's Top 10 Reasons to avoid going before you make up your mind. Personally I don't like movies that are considered (or expected to be) Christian, and in the end are not Christian at all. And if you're taking an unbeliever friend in the hopes that he will get some Gospel, maybe another movie that actually contains some Gospel will do. I love Pastor Joe and his teachings, and I believe he hit one out of the park with this blog entry.

Dragging Out The Inevitable Department - Mark "Bad Boy" Driscoll has resigned as elder and lead pastor at Mars Hill Church. He submitted his voluntary resignation saying “it would be best for the health of our family, and for the Mars Hill family, that we step aside from further ministry at the church.” Nothing was said of the potential criminal charges stemming from mishandling the church's Global Fund.

Nice religion you got dere, be a shame should sumptin' happin' to it. Despite the left's unceasing shrill screams of "Separation of church and state" it appears to me that the left doesn't want separation of church and state, they want elimination of the church by the state. An undisguised shot at Jesus was taken by the mayor and city council of Houston TX when they issued subpoenas demanding a group of pastors turn over not just sermons dealing with homosexuality, gender identity or Annise Parker, the city’s openly lesbian mayor, but also any communications with members of the congregation regarding the Bathroom Bill or the petition to stop it. The center of the firestorm is Houston's HERO law, also called the Bathroom Bill, a law that allows anyone to walk into any public bathroom regardless of designation. In other words; a potential perverts delight. The people of Houston were vocal about their opposition, and in retaliation Annise Parker declared church sermons “fair game” for subpoena,

The Furious Backpeddling For Your Health Department.  After Mayor Annise Parker, announced that that church sermons were 'fair game' for subpoena she found out that Texans don't like to be messed with. With the city of Houston in an uproar and the rest of the country considering whether it's time to mess with Texas, Annise Parker's office bravely declared to the world "We didn't know nothing about this! It was some lawyers that done it! Pro Bono lawyers to boot! The scoundrels!"

City Attorney David Feldman took full responsibility for ordering the subpoenas and said that Mayor Parker did not have any knowledge of the legal action until Fox News broke the story yesterday. Personally I'm not sure what's harder to believe, that the mayor (who said sermons are fair game for subpoenas) wasn't involved, or that she reads Fox News. Every pastor, minister, rabbi, and priest in Houston should send a bible to Annise Parker with a note saying "Here's my source material. Have a blessed day."

Guess which Pastor blessed Mayor Annise Parker at her inauguration! Go on, guess. (Hint: he's not all that into Jesus)

Guess which social media service is actively working to support Houston's anti-christianity campaign. Go on, guess.

What Part of 1 Timothy 3 Don't You Understand? The House of Lords approved a proposal allowing female bishops in the Church of England. Just in case you need a refresher, the House of Lords is a political entity, not a theological entity. Think of them as the US Senate With An Accent which is more honest about being spectacularly wealthy than their American counterparts. It's weird for us Americans to consider a political body setting rules for a church because here in American it's illegal. This is what separation of church and state is all about, not that cockamamie nonsense your atheist liberal college Public Speaking prof. bellowed about.

From reports the only people saddened by this news is the Roman Catholic Church who announced "The decision of the Church of England to admit women to the episcopate therefore sadly places a further obstacle on the path to this unity between us. Nevertheless we are committed to continuing our ecumenical dialogue, seeking deeper mutual understanding and practical cooperation wherever possible" This won't last long, The RCC will find a way to over look this in their ecumenical overthrow of all other religions, I mean Mr. Pope is finding out that the sin of sodomy isn't such a sin any more, he could just ex-cathedra away more parts of the bible he doesn't like. (like that whole worshiping idols thing)

It's Obvious But Needs Repeating Department - Is your worship service biblical? or is it contemporary? Personally I believe that if there's a drum set in a box in the church and there's no UPS truck to pick up the box, it's contemporary, but that's just me. There's nothing in the New Testament that says how a service must be conducted, but it has plenty to say about worshiping biblically.

You Don't Know How To Say "NO!"? Department - Shades of Munster! Megacult church leader Ernest Angly has been accused by numerous parishioners of encouraging pregnant women to get abortions, childless men to get vasectomies, and men to drop their pants. And the sheep goats put up with this? Church discipline works for all member of the church. (Hint - if your pastor tells you to drop your pants, don't. I didn't think I'd ever have to say that in my life, but seriously! Come on people, Think!) And saying "It could be worse" goes without saying.

Religion of Peace Update. I suppose if beheadings, shootings, rape, and murder aren't enough for an Islamist government to let it's Christian population know that they are hated, the next option is airstrikes against Christians.
